This Saturday night at the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and Spa in Warm Springs, Oregon, Warm Springs Nation Boxing will stage an eight bout Pro/Am show, highlighted by three pro bouts. Zillah, Washington’s Juan Esquivel (4-0, 4 KOs) will square off with local Daniel Gilbert in the four round heavyweight main event. Esquivel, who has scored all of his four wins by knockout, will fight for the first time in over two years. In his last bout, which took place in Warm Springs, he stopped Albert Aleck in the third round. Gilbert will be making his pro debut.
Federal Way, Washington’s Steve Villalobos (1-0, 1 KO) will look to add a second win to his professional ledger when he takes on Portland, Oregon’s Aaron Minton in a four round Jr. middleweight contest. Villalobos made his pro debut in September, stopping Colby Grayson in the first round. Minton will be making his first appearance as a paid fighter.
In the remaining pro match-up, David Combs (1-2-1), of Portland, will fight for the first time in over six years, taking on Jasper Smith in a four round Jr. middleweight bout. Combs had his last fight in June of 2010 when he was stopped in the first round by Kaleb Fischer. Smith is making his pro debut.
Five amateur bouts will round out the remainder of the card.
Doors to “Rez Boxing” will open at 6 pm with the first bout set to start at 7 pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
