Broadhurst beats Miller for IBF Int’l title

IBF #12 light heavyweight Trent Broadhurst (18-1, 11 KOs) won a seven round technical decision over
New York-based Shawn Miller (15-3-1, 5 KOs) in a scheduled twelve round bout to capture the vacant IBF International title at the Eatons Hill Hotel, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on Saturday. Broadhurst outworked Miller from the opening round and in round seven the American visited the canvas twice with one knockdown due to a head clash and at the conclusion of the round, Miller’s trainer John Scully retired his charge and the fight went to the scorecards. Judges had Broadhurst winning 70-62, 70-62, 70-62.

Broadhurst is now scheduled to make his American debut on an Art Pellulo/Banner Promotions card scheduled for November 3rd.
