Chris Eubank Jr-Tommy Langford set for October 22

Chris Eubank Jr. will be defending his British middleweight title for the second time when he takes on Tommy Langord in Cardiff.

British middleweight titlist Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) is set to make the second defense of his British strap when he takes on Tommy Langford (17-0, 6 KOs) on Oct. 22 in Cardiff. Langford became the mandatory challenger to Eubank Jr.’s belt when he halted Timo Laine in seven rounds last month.

In an article posted by boxingnews24 last month, Langford has been quoted as saying he needs to beat someone of Eubank Jr.’s stature in order to raise his own profile.

“I need a scalp of his magnitude to project my profile and, because of his dad, Eubank is the biggest name on the scene.

“We’ve sparred in the recent past and, though you can’t take too much into that, I know what he does well and what he doesn’t do well and believe my style exploits his.”

Langford believes that Billy Joe Saunders’s late 2014 win over Eubank Jr. has already exposed his weaknesses and says that he’s confident he can replicate that result.
