Culcay-Andrade headed to Germany

The WBA held purse bids for two WBA world championship fights today at their Panama City headquarters.

Sauerland Event ($425,000) outbid Banner Promotions ($201,000) to win the right to promote the WBA super welterweight title fight between champion Jack Culcay (22-1, 11 KOs) and #1 ranked Demetrius Andrade (23-0, 16 KOs). The bout will take place in Germany on a date to be announced in October or November.

World of Boxing, represented by Vlad Hrunov ($600,000) was the sole bidder for the WBA interim heavyweight title fight between champion Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs) and mandatory WBA #3 ranked Alexander Ustinov (33-1, 24 KOs).
