NY State junior welterweight Anthony ” Showtime” Karperis (13-2, 4 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Ariel Duran (9-9-1, 5 KOs) to retain his title on Saturday night at the sold out Paramount in Huntington, NY. Karperis dropped Duran in round nine en route to a 97-92, 97-92, 98-91 verdict. The two had met once before early in their careers with Karperis coming away with a hard fought four round win.
Lightweight Johnny Hernandez (8-1, 1 KO) outpointed Seifullah Wise (3-3, 1 KO) by unanimous decision over eight rounds.
Super middleweight Vinny D’Angelo (2-0) edged Dan Cion (0-1) over four rounds.
Junior middleweight Juan Mancilla made his pro debut a successful one, stopping Phillip LeGrand (1-4, 1 KO) in round four.
