Klitschko injured, out until 2017

By Togorashi

2016 has been a lost year for 40-year-old former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko, who has already had two fight dates cancelled this year. Wlad has suffered a reported calf injury that will now torpedo a proposed December 10 fight against either IBF champion Anthony Joshua or Lucas Browne for the vacant WBA belt.

“I was made aware that Wladimir picked up a minor injury late last week but regardless of that, with just over six weeks to go until December 10, it’s unrealistic to put together a fight of this magnitude and give it the full build up it deserves,” Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports.

Hearn says Joshua will fight another opponent on December 10, then face off with Klitschko in March or April if all goes according to plan.
