Olympic Boxing: 2nd pro boxer eliminated, only Ruenroeng remains

The second of three professional boxers competing in the Rio Olympics has been knocked out of the tournament without a medal. Unbeaten WBA #11 featherweight Carmine Tommasone (15-0, 4 KOs as a pro) of Italy, a former EBU-EU champion, was defeated 3-0 by Cuban Jorge Lazaro Alvarez 3-0 in the lightweight division.

American lightweight Carlos Balderas defeated Japan’s Daisuke Narimatsu 3-0.

British lightweight Joseph Cordina was defeated by Hurshid Tojibaev 2-0 with one round even.

Mexican middleweight Uziel Rodriguez defeated Irag’s Waheed Karaawi 3-0.
