Just hours after arriving in Manila from Puerto Rico, defending champion McJoe Arroyo (17-0, 8 KOs) plunged into training at the Elorde Sports Center. Arroyo is set to clash with Filipino challenger Jerwin Ancajas (24-1-1, 16 KOs) this Saturday night.
Arroyo will be risking his WBO junior-bantamweight crown for the first time against Ancajas, who fights out of Manny Pacquiao’s MP Boxing.
“I came focused on just one thing, winning,” said Arroyo, “I know what I have to do.”
The fight will be held at the Philippine Navy Gymnasium in Taguig City and will open to the public as a gift of Sen. Manny Pacquiao to fight fans.
