Online sportsbooks aren’t giving IBF #6 rated welterweight contender Leonard “The Lion” Bundu much of a chance of beating unbeaten 2012 Olympian Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. in this afternoon’s NBC-televised IBF eliminator at the Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island, New York. Odds are pretty much 100:1 across the board for the highly regarded 26-year-old Spence (20-0, 17 KOs), who is rated IBF #2 with the #1 spot vacant. Bundu backers can get +4000 if the 41-year-old Italian (33-1-2, 12 KOs) can somehow spring the upset.
The “over-under” for the bout at 7.5 rounds seems an interesting proposition. The “over” is -160, while “under” is +140. Bundu, a 2000 Olympian himself, went the distance with big-punching WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman and has never been stopped. Can Spence halt Bundu early and one-up “One-Time” Thurman?
