Lightweight contender Felix Verdejo (22-0, 15 KOs) is “stable and alert” after a one-person motorcycle accident in Puerto Rico. According to El Nuevo Dia, “El Diamante” lost control of his bike and fell to the pavement. He suffered multiple lacerations, but doesn’t appear have any broken bones. He was wearing a helmet, but reportedly did suffer an unspecified trauma to the head. CT results are pending. The accident could throw a wrench into Top Rank’s plans to match Verdejo against WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan on Manny Pacquiao’s November 5 PPV card.
