Wanheng defeats Juarez, retains WBC 105lb title

WBC 105lb king Wanheng Meenayothin (43-0, 17 KOs) successfully kept his WBC crown as he won a unanimous decision over WBC #1 Saul Juarez (23-5-1, 12 KOs) on Tuesday at the City Hall Ground of Chonburi Province, Thailand. Scored: Jesse Reyes (USA) 115-113, Barry Lindenman (USA) 116-112, Jae Bong Kim (South Korea) 116-113. After a close affair contest in the first four round, Wanheng dominated during rounds five to eight with his more accurate counterpunches and led 77-75, 78-74, 78-75 by the score announcement after round eight. Thereafter, it was not hard for him to take control the fight until the final round.

In other action, Singsayan CP Freshmart (reportedly 4-0) won a 99-91, 96-94, 96-94 unanimous decision over China’s Jin Dunshun to capture the vacant WBC Youth 115lb title.
