World-rated Brant destroys Fitzpatrick

Unbeaten WBA #4, WBO #7 rated middleweight Rob “Bravo” Brant (21-0, 14 KOs) of Saint Paul, Minnesota, outclassed Cleveland’s Chris “The Irish Ghost” Fitzpatrick (15-5, 6 KOs) in a three-round blowout on Friday night at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. Brant dropped Fitzpatrick in round two and decked him again in round three. The bout was waved off after the second knockdown.

Super welterweight slugger Skender Halili (11-1, 11 KOs) of Fort Worth, Texas, blasted out Silver Springs, Maryland-based Ghanian journeyman Ben Odamattey (16-16-3, 9 KOs) in the first round. Halili dropped Odamattey, then got a referee’s intervention with his follow up barrage. The bout lasted 77 seconds.

Undefeated middleweight and former amateur world champion Cem Killic (6-0, 3 KOs) of Sherman Oaks, California, via Frankfurt, Germany, scored a second round TKO over debuting Jerhed Fenderson of Las Vegas. A left hand from the much more experienced Killic dropped Fenderson in round two and the referee waved it off. Time was 1:50.

Welterweight prospect Malik Hawkins (9-0, 7 KOs) of Baltimore, Maryland, topped Portland, Oregon’s Sean Gee (3-5) over four rounds by scores of 40-36 across the board.
