Amir Khan continues to lobby for Floyd Mayweather fight

By Wil Esco

Khan, in true Khan fashion, says he’s never been outboxed before.

Amir Khan, who is still riding a year-and-a-half long layoff after getting comatosed by Canelo Alvarez in May 2016, says he’s ready to get back in action, and he’s once again looking at Floyd Mayweather. In a series of tweets Khan posted yesterday, he says that he would give Floyd problems like he’s never seen before because he’s supposedly incapable of getting outboxed. Knocked the f*ck out, yes, but not outboxed.

1/2 I know it’s been a year I’ve not fough due to hand surgery. I’m ready to make comeback at 30 years of age. Say what you like Canelo was

2/2 Getting out boxed. I was winning on cards. He had power and caught me with a huge right. Thats Boxing. Mayweather doesn’t have the power

In any fight I’ve never been out boxed. Mayweather khan fight would be a game of chess. Speed movement and accuracy will cause him problems

Now, look, Khan does have high-level boxing skills, but coming off a highlight reel knockout loss to someone Floyd Mayweather dominated a few years back isn’t exactly the best selling point for a fight with Floyd. Could Khan pose some problems for Floyd with his speed and length? Maybe. But is it a fight anyone is clamoring for at this point in their respective careers? Most certainly not.

For someone who consistently shuns Kell Brook by saying he’s an undeserving opponent, Khan may need to take a long look in the mirror. And speaking of Kell Brook, he chimed in himself to respond to Khan’s Mayweather talk.

@amirkingkhan if you wanna play kiss-chase with retired men shame, really. get in with me n I’ll fast track ya into collecting your pension
