Amir Khan wants to get back into the ring.
Amir Khan has used social media to apologize to his fans for his inactivity and “all the wrongdoings,” and says he’s ready to get back to what he does best in the boxing ring.
Khan’s Instagram post:
Can’t wait to get back in the ring, where I belong. I apologise to all my fans for not being active for a year. I want this more than anyone. Time to make my come back, right to the top where I belong. A lots happened in my life n it’s time I put everything behind me. I apologise to everyone for all the wrong doings, time to move on and do what I do best #Boxing #TeamKhan

Khan (31-4, 19 KO) hasn’t fought since his May 2016 loss to Canelo Alvarez, a predictable knockout defeat where he moved up to a 155-pound catchweight for a big money fight, and gave his best effort, boxing well in the early rounds of the fight before the size difference and Canelo’s power were too much.
Khan turns 31 in December, and likely won’t fight this year, unless he takes a tune-up, but that doesn’t sound like his plan. He wants to get back into the big fights as soon as possible, probably back at welterweight, and he still has the name value — as well as the vulnerability — to attract big names.
