Freshly-crowned WBC Silver champion Sergio “El Niño” Garcia (24-0, 12 KOs), will very likely put his title at stake against Felice Moncelli (17-4-1, 5 KOs), form Italy, in the super welterweight division. The fight is expected to take place on Sept. 16 or Sept. 23 in Cantabria, northern Spain, the title holder’s homeland.
The undefeated 24-year-old Spaniard promoted by Maravilla Box, won the vacant belt two weeks ago outpointing Isaac “Chaca” Real in Barcélona. He is a slightly tall, durable action-fighter who likes to put pressure on his foe, usually starting his action from the outside.
Moncelli, a young fighter himself aged 23, is managed by Davide Buccioni. In his last outing, he beat Adriano Nicchi for the WBC Int.l with a close, disputed decision. The Italian is a sheer brawler, he gets a decent punch and fighting heart although he appears frequently too mechanical and predictable in his action, struggling to find the best fight distance to land. However, their matchup might deliver a good show for the spectators.
