Eddie Hearn says he likes the size advantage Anthony Joshua has over Deontay Wilder.
With a showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder emerging as the fight to make in the heavyweight division, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn tells Sky Sports that putting that fight together is in his plans for 2018.
In particular Hearn seems to take comfort in knowing that Wilder is a much slimmer, trimmer fighter than Joshua, especially after seeing him weigh-in against Bermane Stiverne this past weekend.
“I was really interested to see the weight of Deontay Wilder on the scales, 15st 9. I texted that to Anthony today, Deontay Wilder, 15st 9.
“I shouldn’t really tell you the reply, but it was ‘I’ll eat him,’ and the size difference is huge. It’s two-and-a-half stone now between those two.”
Hearn then reiterated the fact that Joshua wants to capture all the heavyweight belts and take on the top names, so we can expect fights against Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, and Tyson Fury to all happen. It’s just a matter of when and in what order.
Who do you think Anthony Joshua should take on first?
