After 4 months out of the ring Bilal Laggoune will be back in action on June 17 in Brugge, Belgium. Laggoune took time out to digest his first official defeat of his career. He showed his limitations against unrated Doudou Ngumbu losing his WBC Francophone lightheavyweight title last Feb 10 on home turf.
In his last fight as cruiserweight he escaped from his first defeat when he was gifted with a draw against Dmytro Kucher for the vacant EBU cruiserweight title on Oct 9, 2015 which many neutral observers saw as a clear loss. He has only 1 win since that fight almost 2 years ago. He knocked out French Hakim Chioui in 3 rounds.
Earlier in his career he had a points win against Tamas Lodi. Yves Ngabu recently stopped Lodi in 4 rounds to win the vacant EBU cruiserweight title. He also scored a draw against Joel Tambwe Djeko.
Laggoune, the actual WBC #29 and EBU #7, will look for a well needed win to get his career back on track against an still to be announced opponent.
