Mayweather vs. McGregor: Floyd suggests Paulie Malignaggi served as a mole in Conor’s camp

By Wil Esco

Has Paulie Malignaggi been colluding with Floyd Mayweather this whole time?

In this video caught by FightHype, Paulie Malignaggi is spotted at the Mayweather Gym with his ‘always friend’ Floyd Mayweather. The way Mayweather tells the story, Paulie called him to ask him he thinks he should’ve gone to McGregor’s training camp as a sparring partner, to which Floyd responded: “Abso-fucking-lutely!”

Meanwhile Paulie is standing in the video under Floyd’s wing, repeatedly saying “Suckers!”

The obvious insinuation here is that Floyd pretty much sent Paulie to camp so he could get the inside scoop on McGregor’s preparation and tactics. Floyd would even explicitly state:

“Me and Paulie gonna stay at the house and talk about strategy, we gonna talk about ev-ery-thing! Don’t you worry! Paulie, thank you for going over there like I asked you to do.”

Paulie is supposed to be working the Showtime broadcast for this fight, but some feel that he’s aligned himself too much with Mayweather, especially in this video, which may be a conflict of interest. Really, I don’t think it matters much and for that reason don’t care — but that’s the word.

McGregor has gone on records stating that he doesn’t care what Malignaggi tells Mayweather as he believes there’s nothing Floyd can do to prepare for him. But McGregor’s camp did care enough to accuse Malignaggi of breaking their non-disclosure agreement which would mean that don’t have to pay Paulie for his sparring services.
