McGregor applies for boxing license in Nevada

All signs continue to point towards a Mayweather-McGregor fight actually happening.

With each passing day it seems more and more likely that fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will indeed be a thing. With McGregor and UFC president Dana White recently coming to terms for their side of a Mayweather deal, Bob Bennett, the head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, has confirmed to WBN that McGregor has officially applied for his boxing license in the state.

“Conor has submitted an application for a boxing license. We are currently waiting for his supporting documents,” Bennett exclusively told World Boxing News.

That, in and of itself, is a pretty good indicator that negotiation for the fight is progressing because, realistically, Nevada is the only place Mayweather would be willing to fight. McGregor previously applied for, and was granted a license in California.

The NSAC commissioner has also suggested that he believes McGregor will in fact be granted a boxing license without too much fuss, which removes yet another barrier standing in the way of the fight.
