Naoya Inoue crushes Yoann Boyeaux in three

Boyeaux went down four times before the ref stepped in

Naoya Inoue had exactly as much trouble as expected against Yoann Boyeaux this morning, by which I mean none whatsoever. In what was likely his final bout at 115 pounds, “The Monster” bulldozed Boyeaux in three rounds.

Inoue (15-0, 13 KO) walked Boyeaux (41-5, 26 KO) down and blasted him with heavy combinations from the opening bell. The Frenchman, visibly shaken by Inoue’s power, was lucky to escape the first round, as a massive left hook bowled him over and left him on wobbly legs when the bell rang

Inoue kept up the seek-and-destroy tactics and scored a nasty body shot knockdown early in the third. Despite the cringeworthy sound, Boyeaux made it to his feet, only to get dropped twice with additional rib-roasters.

It’s truly a shame that Inoue never got the chance to fight Juan Francisco Estrada, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Roman Gonzalez, or Carlos Cuadras during his tenure at super flyweight. Luckily, he’s got some mouthwatering matchups at 118, including the reportedly interested Zolani Tete.
