NEW Old Pick ‘Em Game!!!!! The Glorious Return!!!! Week 1 of 8

By DerGergis

Welcome all! It has recently been noted that our friend Bingo762 no longer has the time to run the Pick ‘Em game anymore, so somebody had to pick it up. I toyed with the idea before when DerGergis first said he was done earlier this year, and Bingo762 wound up picking it back up before I could pull the trigger on it. Well, I have decided that I am now willing to do it, and would also like to bring back the previous format that DerGergis used to use.

I figure that it may be best to just start this off as an 8-week session to finish off the year, after which we can discuss whether we want to continue with 8 week sessions, or bump in up to 12. Either way, I am excited to get the game going again, and hope that it is popular and successful. So let’s get this show on the road! (NOTE – This is all the work of Rusty Griswold. I am just posting it on the main page for him – formatting needs a little overhaul with the new posting format, I’ll get it fixed for next week)

Some notable rule changes/comments will be as follows:

-Players can now only PASS on one pick per week. Any additional PASS will result in a loss of 10 points, so you are better off making an attempt.

-There will still be a 10-point participation bonus delivered every week that a player submits picks.

-Since this first session will only be 8 weeks, every player will begin with eight(8) Doubles and four(4)Triples, which can be used as a multiplier on any pick. Unused Multipliers will not carry over into the next session, so make sure to use them up (if you so desire) before the end.

****REMEMBER: Players are only allowed to Pass on one pick per week now. A failure to make a selection on more than one fight will result in a loss of 10 points per additional passed fight.****
