Rosado expects to win Gatti-Ward-type war against Murray

By Wil Esco

Will this be Rosado’s last, last chance?

Gabe Rosado (23-10, 13 KOs) is all squared away to take a trip across to the pond to take on Martin Murray (34-4-1, 16 KOs) on April 22 in Liverpool in a live televised fight on Sky Sports. And despite being 2-5 in his last seven outings, Rosado tells Sky Sports that he’s fully prepared to win a gutsy war against Murray, à la Gatti-Ward.

“I want to win by knockout. Against Martin Murray you are going to get blood and sweat and it’s going to be a great fight. A war.

“It will kind of remind me of – even though trying to live up to it is crazy – a Ward-Gatti-style fight!

“I am Gatti, until the second fight and then I am Gatti in the rematch as well!”

In preparation for the fight Rosado has moved back to Philadelphia and reunited with former trainer Billy Briscoe in the hopes on making one final run at a world title. Thus far Rosado 0-2 in world title fights, having lost to both Gennady Golovkin and Peter Quillin.

Despite that, though, Rosado firmly believes that he has a lot more miles left in the tank than does Murray at this point. In fact Rosado plans to use that to his advantage over the older Murray who will be dropping back down to middleweight for this fight.

Tell me fans, who do you like in this fight?
