Former WBA #1 world ranked welterweight Brad Solomon(26-1, 9KOs) returns to the ring after about a year layoff. Solomon’s comeback will begin July 5th in Panama City, Panama on a card promoted by Rogelio Espino’s (Promociones del Istmo). The bout is being scheduled for a WBA Fedbol title. A win would see Solomon then look to defend that same title July 29th in Puerto Armuelles, Panama. That card is to be promoted by Andy Kim (AK Promotions). Both of Solomon’s opponents are soon to be finalized.
Solomon, now a promotional fee agent, has acquired the management services of buisnessman Camero Mercer and trainer Lee Beard of the United Kingdom where Solomon is currently training.
Mercer has been involved in boxing for quite a while but primarily behind the scenes to not take attention from the fighters. He has worked with former world champions in their primes such as Vivian Harris, Argenis Mendez,Joan Guzman, and most notably a manager of Timothy Bradley during his first world title reign. He is confident Solomon will join his list of world champions he has worked with.
“Brad has all the necessary skills to be a world champion at 147. He is in good hands with first class trainer Lee Beard. Before 2017 is over I expect Brad will be ready and in a major showdown in this talent rich welterweight division,” said Mercer.
