The fights are set for April 7th and May 19th, respectively
Two of this upcoming spring’s biggest fights now have venues, albeit with different degrees of finality. The April 7th super welterweight unifier between Erislandy Lara and Jarrett Hurd is “likely headed to StubHub Center,” while May 19th’s light heavyweight battle between Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack is officially booked for the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Neither event currently has an official undercard bout.
Neither Lara (25-2-2, 14 KO) nor Hurd (21-0, 15 KO) has ever competed in Carson, California’s StubHub Center, which has hosted some top-notch slugfests before. We can only hope some of the mojo rubs off on Lara and he deigns to finally give us a quality scrap.
The Bell Centre is familiar territory for Stevenson (29-1, 24 KO), who thrashed Andrzej Fonfara there last time out and will be making his 13th appearance at the venue. Jack (22-1-2, 13 KO) has not competed outside the U.S. since his fifth pro fight in 2010.
