Joshua vs Parker: Showtime to carry fight in United States

By Scott Christ

Anthony Joshua will return to Showtime on March 31.

Showtime Sports has officially announced that they’ve acquired the U.S. rights to the March 31 heavyweight unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, meaning the network once again has one of the sport’s top and still rising stars on its airwaves.

Joshua (20-0, 20 KO) will defend his WBA and IBF belts against the WBO title held by Parker (24-0, 18 KO), in a highly-anticipated fight in front of what will be a massive crowd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

“The heavyweight division is in the midst of a renaissance, and Showtime is delivering all of the pivotal bouts to our subscribers,” said Stephen Espinoza.

“Anthony Joshua is a global superstar, and we’re proud to present his sixth, and perhaps most challenging, world title fight to the U.S. audience. Joshua vs Parker will be the 12th heavyweight world championship match on Showtime since Deontay Wilder won his title in 2015, an undisputed industry-leading offering in boxing’s preeminent division.”
